Putin sends condolences to Turkey over train tragedy

"We have learnt with deep sorrow about a major railway catastrophe with numerous casualties," Putin said in his telegram to Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"I express my sincere sympathy, and I also ask you to convey my condolences to the next-of-kin of the dead," Putin said.

Putin also wished an early recovery to those injured in the tragedy.
