The governor general said undoubtedly the role of the Turkish consul general in Tabriz in expansion of bilateral ties is quite sensitive and important.

In the meeting, the Turkish Consul General in Tabriz Nafi Jamal Touciali, too, expressed readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation and to expand ties between Turkish border provinces with Eastern Azerbaijan.

He informed the Iranian official of the near future opening of a special bazar for Turkish businessmen in Tabriz and expressed hope that after the establishing of the bazar bilateral economic and trade ties would be boosted.

The Turkish Consulate General in Tabriz was established in1921 .
