"Precondition for a deal before referendum should be lifted"

ANKARA (NTV) – It was reported that Ankara greeted warmly Turkey’s offer to lift the precondition which demanded Turkey to approve a Cyprus agreement before a referendum.

In addition to this, Ankara made a condition that the sides would agree on the two parts and the guarantorship principles would be continued.

Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal gathered with Cyprus department bureaucrats. The last developments on the Cyprus issue were taken up.

ZIYAL WILL REPRESENT TURKEY

MFA Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal’s presenting Turkey in New York talks was decided and he was planned to go to New York on Sunday or Monday. But on the other hand, Ankara made a condition that the two parts and quarantorship system would be lasted.

About the map issue, Ankara demanded that the borders had to be plain but not wavy. Following the sides reached an agreement on these basic three issues, the points which couldn’t be agreed would be fulfil by Annan and Turkey greeted it warmly.
