Polish President expects solution of Cyprus problem

Kwasniewski received Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc, who is currently visiting Poland.

Responding to Kwasniewski’s words about Cyprus, Arinc said, ”Turkey and TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) are deploying great efforts to solve Cyprus problem. But, we don’t see the same approach from the Greek Cypriot administration.”

Sources said that Kwasniewski expected Turkey to contribute to efforts aiming at reaching a peace between Israel and Palestine.

On the other hand, Arinc said that Turkey supported peace efforts

and wanted the parties to abide by the road map.

Turkey’s EU membership bid was also taken up in the meeting. Kwasniewski supported Turkey’s membership, and expressed his belief that Turkey should take its place in the EU. Arinc expressed his pleasure with Poland’s support to Turkey’s membership bid.

After this meeting, Arinc visited Museum of the Warsaw Uprising.
