Police Detain 137 Students At Istanbul University

Police searched all students entering the university’s campus after two groups of students with opposing political views clashed at the Yildiz Technical University yesterday, attacking each other with sticks and stones over a dispute about May Day posters.

In yesterday’s clash, 40 students and 2 police officers were injured, and police detained 58 people. Their interrogation continues.

During the body search in front of the gate on the Istanbul University’s campus, police seized 12 knives, 1 adz, 5 tear gas sprayers, 23 iron pipes, 70 sticks, 40 stones and 1 slingshot.
