Poland blanks Turkey, enters Worlds semis 

MANILA, Philippines — Poland blanked Turkey, 25-15, 25-22, 25-19, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday evening to advance to the FIVB Men’s World Championships semifinals.

Wilfredo Leon Jakub Kochanowski punched in 13 points apiece to lead the world no. 1 Poland in the quarterfinal match.

Bartosz Kurek added 10 points for Poland which claimed the second semis berth after defending champ Italy took the first earlier with a sweep of Belgium.

Adis Lagumdzija banged 12 points to pace Turkey.
