PM’s Staking Damages Turkey-EU Relationship
Expressing that Turkey obtained a historical opportunity as regards the next period and it should be utilized, CHP Chairman Deniz Baykal proposed that the last two articles of the Turkish Penal Code be tackled and the works on the code be completed before Parliament is closed for holiday.
At a press meeting ay CHP Headquarters, Baykal said that there were only two articles left, as to be "execution" and "effectiveness", of the Turkish Penal Code, that with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s decision, this effort of Parliament could not be concluded and the reason of this could not be understood.
Baykal also stressed that the decision rendered by the Prime Minister would seriously damage the Turkey-EU relationships.
