PKK targets Turkey’s oil facilities

On Oct. 23, the PKK was reported to have struck a Turkish oil pipeline in the southeastern city of Batman. Officials said the pipeline was bombed and about 6,000 barrels of oil poured out of the damaged facility.

Officials said authorities have bolstered forces in the southeast to protect against PKK attacks on Turkish oil facilities. In September, the PKK announced a resumption of the insurgency campaign against Ankara.
