PKK and N. Iraq issues taken up with Jones

General Staff Secretariat General Press Center issued a written statement saying that Gen. Jones visited Gen. Ozkok.

"During the meeting, the issues which will be discussed in NATO Military Committee meeting next week in Britain and France, the formation of NATO Rapid Response Force, preparations about Allied Action 2003 Command Place manoeuvre which will be exercised between 13-18 November, 2003 and which will be hosted by Turkey and other issues about NATO command structure were discussed. Besides, the two generals exchanged views about the developments regarding the stability operation carried out in Iraq, its military repercussion, the PKK-KADEK existence in north of Iraq and cooperation that can be made about this issue," it was noted.

The meetings between military delegations will start on Thursday to clarify the military details which the government needs to know for giving its final political decision about sending soldiers to Iraq.
