Pakistan to sign trade agreements with Turkey, and Iran

Addressing a press conference on new trade policy here, he disclosed that the prime minister would be visiting Turkey in September where bilateral trade agreements would be signed.

Federal minister for commerce told that funds would be provided from the allocations for annual development programme for setting up effluent treatment plant to rehabilitate the industrial estates.

He said that the government would set up ‘Communication City’ in Islamabad under a scheme of promoting telephone and IT sector, which may extended to other cities as well.

Hamayun Akhtar told that the government was taking measures to brace up industry in the country to meet the challenges of WTO.

He said that the new schemes initiated for promotion of trade would be financed from Export Fund.

He further said that the measures being taken by the government for improvement of textile industry would soon come in the forefront.
