PAK v NZ T20I: PCB takes generous step for Turkiye-Syria quake victims

ISLAMABAD: PCB on Wednesday announced to donate the gate money from the fifth and final game of the PAK vs NZ T20I series for the earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria.

The Pakistan team will also wear commemorative caps to convey Pakistan’s everlasting solidarity with the two nations going through this difficult moment.

The final between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on April 24.

The border region of Türkiye and Syria was rocked by one of the deadliest earthquakes on 6 February that claimed thousands of lives and destroyed essential infrastructure, including healthcare facilities.

In this regard, the Pakistan Cricket Board will play a part in raising donations for millions of people affected on either side of the border by joining hands with the Punjab Government.

However, PCB also appealed the fans who cannot attend the match to make their donations to the cause.

The home team is currently leading the five-game series by 2-1 after the first three matches in Lahore. Rawalpindi will host the last two matches on April 20 and 24.

Babar Azam-led Pakistan will be hoping to defeat New Zealand in the PAK vs NZ 4th T20 on Thursday in order to take the insurmountable lead in the series.
