Over 6.5 million tourists visit Turkey in 2003

According to data from the State Statistics Institute (DIE), almost four million tourists were from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries.
The number of tourists coming from the American continent was more than 20,000 while the number of those from Oceania countries was 162.
According to figures, more than two million tourists visited Turkey in July and most of them were from Germany. The Russian Federation and the Netherlands followed.
