One soldier killed in Baskale Turkey

A Turkish Gendarmery team patrolling around the Iranian border region warned a group of 8 people who were trying to proceed to Iran clandestinely from Baskale town’s Bogrupek village near Iranian border to stop but the group riding on horseback opened fire on gendarmery and killed one soldier.

Sources said that the assailants could not be identified as they fled.

An investigation is under way.
