OIC to take up Iraq and Israel-Palestinian problem

Turkish State Minister Besir Atalay will represent Turkey in urgent meeting of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) which will be held in Malaysia.

A delegation headed by Atalay will represent Turkey in the urgent meeting of OIC which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on April 22.

Recent developments in Iraq and Israeli-Palestinian problem will be taken up in the meeting.

Malaysia has called for an urgent meeting on Middle East issue upon the request of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat after U.S. President George W. Bush supported Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s plan for unilateral withdrawal from Gaza Strip.

Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will meet with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud al-Faysal in Ankara the same day.
