New Turkish government wins vote

It won 363 of the 550 seats in the assembly at November 3 elections, so winning
the simple majority needed was a formality.

A pro-Western moderate, Gul was appointed Turkey’s new prime
minister earlier this month with a pledge to restore the country’s economy and
secure EU membership.
