New Evidence of Torture

The daily pointed out that almost 13 prisoners gave testimonies within the investigation in Abu Grayip prison in January and according to their depositions, torture in Iraq was much more violent than thought by the public.

One of the prisoners El-Abudi told the daily that U.S. soldiers poured water on the ground of the cells; ordered the prisoners to sleep on the floor with a bag on their heads and that everything was shot. The Washington Post said that those who testified were allegedly had information about Saddam Huseyin and mass destruction weapons.

A group of Iraqi prisoners were released from Abu Grayip prison; however it is unknown where they were taken.
