NATO decison on Turkey expected on Saturday

Germany claimed that NATO military moves would have sent the ‘wrong signal’ and said that UN weapons inspections in Iraq need to be extended. Earlier today the German Chancellor, Gerhard Schroeder, said no official decision would be needed on the issue before Friday. In Brussels, NATO’s 19 ambassadors were due to meet for the fourth straight day to thrash out the issue despite few signs of a breakthrough.
