Mortar Attacks on Kufa Mosque: 27 Killed, 63 Wounded

Hani Hasim, who was inside the mosque during the attack, said that the mortar hit the mosque while gatherers were waiting to march to Necef (Najaf).

An Agency France Press (AFP) correspondent in Najaf reported that the National Guard opened fire on the Kufa Mosque to incite support for the Shiite militia in the Imam Ali Tomb in Najaf.
