Military helicopter bursts into flames in Hakkari

ANKARA (AA) – A helicopter belonging to Diyarbakir Gendarmerie Air Group Command burst into flames today because of a puncture in its fuel oil tank occurred due to hard landing.

The eleven personnel of the helicopter injured and taken to the hospital.

“M-17 type helicopter made a hard landing on Hakkari Command Helicopter landing area and fell on its right side,” said in the statement made by the military headquarters.

“The helicopter burst into fire because of the hard landing. The fourteen passengers and four crews are injured. The investigation on the accident still continues,” the statement said.
