Militants Nab 3 Turkish Workers in Iraq

A video broadcast by Al Jazeera television shows the kidnappers and their three Turkish hostages. The three Turks say their names and then the militants declare, "If Turkish companies do not withdraw from Iraq we will behead the three Turkish workers in 72 hours."

It is not know exactly when and from where the captives were taken, but their kidnappers are assumed to be the same group of people responsible for the beheadings of American Nicholas Berg and South Korean Kim Sun Il.

Elsewhere, Salih Aksoy, who was kidnapped four months ago by Taliban militants in Afghanistan and held for ransom, has been released. Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said that Salih Aksoy, who was kidnapped on March 5, was rescued yesterday after long and careful work. Gul disclosed that Aksoy had been taken to the Turkish Embassy in Kabul.
