Menderes faces trial for insulting Turkey’s founder

It was claimed that Menderes said during a Democrat Party meeting in December 1994, “Damn Ataturk, damn the Democrat Party.”
Menderes is facing trial on charges of violating the Article 1 of the Crimes Committed Against Ataturk.
The prosecutor demands one to three years imprisonment for Menderes.
