KKTC ambassador in US reception first time ever

The invitation came amid efforts to end economic and political isolation of Turkish Cypriots after they voted for a U.N. plan to reunify Cyprus. The U.S. ambassador posted in the internationallty-recognized Greek side of Cyprus visited KKTC Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat at his office earlier this month. The visit was also the first of its kind.
