Kirkuk Wants Turkish Troops
Mustafa went on to say that all institutions were active and the hospitals and schools were serving the people in Kirkuk.
On the option of Turkish troops in the region, Mustafa said that "We would naturally want them to come if US and allies decide so. We support every step to bring peace and order to Iraq. These steps please and make us happy."
The Deputy Governor and Kirkuk Parliament Speaker also said that Turkish soldiers were needed in Iraq.
Parliament Speaker Tahsin Kaya said that they were prohibited to name their children in Turkoman during the Saddam era and "We want to have TV stations and dailies to express ourselves."
He said "Arrival of Turkish troops in Iraq, upon the request of U.S. will be very good. As Turkomans, we need Turkey’s assistance."
Kirkuk’s Deputy Governor Irfan Kerkuk said that they wanted Turkish troops to serve as peacekeeping forces in Kirkuk.
He said that the chaos in Iraq was the job of Kuwaitis who gave money to organize terror. "As Sunnite Arabs we want our Turkish brothers here. IT will be good for everyone" he added.
