KESK protests negotiations for sending troops

Claiming that Turkey will be an "invader" if it sends Turkish troops to Iraq, KESK Chairman Sami Evren stated, "We will not allow Turkey to be an invasion force in Iraq, nor be a partner to the violence conducted by imperialists over brethern Iraqi people for the sake of oil and hegemony."

"The U.S. brought much more violence, chaos and murders to the Iraq that it invaded," said Evren and continued, "However, various groups of Iraqi people resist against the invasion and American and British troops have casualities every day."

Reminding that it was demanded from Turkey to send 10,000 troops to Iraq, Evren stated, "As anti-war people who come together under the roof of the Global Peace and Justice Coalition, we want to emphasize one more time that all the foreign forces in Iraq are invaders. Sending Turkish troops to Iraq and participating with the invaders means that Turkey will also be an invader. We will not permit the government to make Turkey an invasion force in Iraq."
KESK Chairman Evren also called Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul to ask the details of the negotiations conducted in Washington.
