Kayseri: Death toll rises upto 10 in Kayseri collapse

The treatment of 13 others including one teacher who were rescued from the debris, continues in hospital.
The collapse of the building claiming the lives of ten persons is believed to take place due to gas leakage from LPG canister.
Kayseri Mayor Mehmet Ozhaseki said that according to the information received from some eyewitnesses, the incident probably stemmed from gas explosion. "The building collapsed after a big explosion. The clay roofing tiles on the roof of the building and some furniture were blown up. The explosion was heard from places which were far away from the scene. This information show that the leaking LPG canister caused the explosion," Ozhaseki said. Ozhaseki said that the LPG canister used in the dining hall was a big industrial type canister, causing a very strong explosion.
Search and rescue efforts ended in the debris of the building, as there has been no body left under the debris.
Meanwhile, three students who stayed in the boarding school went to their homes by getting permission from the school last evening.
