July capasity utilisation rises by 80.9 pct
ANKARA (AA) – The capacity utilisation rose by 80.9 percent in July, when compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the State Statistics Institution (DIE) data.
The capacity utilisation in the manufacturing industry had amounted to 77.5 percent in July 2002.
In DIE’s Monthly Manufacturing Industry Inclination Inquiry, the capacity utilisation on the periodical sectoral basis, amounted to 65.5% in food and beverages production, 66.6%in tobacco production, 81.7% in the textile industry, 89.1% in cloths industry, 83.9%in woods industry, 90% in paper industry, 82.6% in press industry, 84.6% in main metal industry, 87.8% in radio and tv communication equipment industry and 89.6% in other transportation vehicles industry.
The reasons for not working at full capacity are indicated as the inadequate demand in the domestic market with 64.7 percent.The inadequate demand in foreign markets amounted 15.1 percent, inadequate raw material was at 3.4 percent, problems with workers at 2.7 percent, lack of financial possibilities at 2 percent and the inadequate raw material in imported goods at 1.4 percent.
