Japan must wake up to the potential of boosting economic ties with Turkey

Aug. 6 marks the centenary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Japan. After Turkey opened up its economy in the 1980s and 1990s, its trade with East Asia essentially meant trade with Japan.
