Izzet wants to be called to Turkish National Team

Izzet said: "I was last in the Turkish squad at the beginning of last season and I think not being in the Premiership didn’t help along with the fact Turkey had a new manager.

"What you have to do is look at how many people playing in the First Division get into the England squad and the answer is not many.

"Turkey are on the same sort of level as England and they have got a lot of players they can choose from who are performing in the best leagues all over the world.

"It would be great for me to get back in and be involved for that England game. Only time will tell but if Leicester start well and I personally do the business then you’ve got a chance.

"It’s going to be a game where maybe winner takes all in terms of qualifying for the European Championships. It’s going to be a massive game which anyone would love to play in.

"One thing I know is that England will have to put up with an intimidating atmosphere.

"They have got big players with big clubs playing on the world stages so they will be used to it from that point of view. But the Turks are fanatical about their football."
