Italian Naval Commander awarded TSK Order of Merit

"Today Admiral De Donno will be awarded the TSK Order of Merit for the work he has carried out sincerely to boost relations between the two countries and their armed and naval forces," said Alpkaya.

Following his meetings in Ankara, the visiting Admiral will then visit Golcuk and the historiacal and touristic places in Turkey.

Alpkaya stated that the visits of the Italian Admiral in Turkey would contribute especially to the relations between the two country’s naval forces.

Later Alpkaya presented a shield to Admiral De Donno for his visit and De Donno gave a present to Alpkaya.

At the ceremony Alpkaya stated that he was glad to present the order of merit on behalf of the Chief of Staff Gen. Hilmi Ozkok. He said, "The important contributions of Italy and Turkey to the regional and global security have created tight and essential ties between the naval forces of the two countries. Admiral De Donno has been awarded this medal as a symbol for his efforts to strenghten relations and cooperation between our countries. I congratulate him and give my respect."

Admiral De Donno stated that he was very glad to be awarded the TSK Order of Merit.
