Israel unhappy with Erdogan’s criticism

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Israeli Foreign Ministry slammed Erdogan’s comments that Ariel Sharon was harming the peace process in the Middle East. The Turkish Prime Minister has also described the operations of the Israeli military in the Gaza strip as state terrorism.
“The comments of the Turkish prime minister yesterday in Istanbul as well as his previous statements are extremely regrettable,” the ministry’s statement said.
“The main obstacle to the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians is the terrorist killings carried out by Palestinian terrorist organisations which have cost the lives of hundreds of innocent Israelis over the course of the last three years,” the statement continued.
