Israel Ready to Meet with Moderate Palestinian Administration

After a visit to Beijing, Shalom conveyed Israel’s belief that the Palestinian Administration will be composed of moderates after Yasser Arafat officially removes himself as the leader of the Palestinians. Arafat, who recently awoke from a short coma, is currently undergoing medical treatment at Percy military hospital in Paris.

Shalom expressed his hope that the Palestinians will fight against terrorism in this new era and will be lead by a responsible leader who will provide the start of peace talks and dialogue.
