Israel-Iran war: Israel planning to attack Turkey? Turkish defence minister makes BIG claim
Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler has issued a strong warning regarding Israel’s potential to escalate tensions with Turkey.
Ankara: The Israel Defense Forces(IDF) forces continue to operate in southern Lebanon and Gaza. Earlier on Thursday, Israeli Air Force jets struck Damascus, targeting Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s headquarters and military buildings. Israel’s strikes on Gaza and Lebanon, aimed at curbing threats from Hamas and Hezbollah, have led to regional instability, prompting countries like Turkey to prepare for potential spillover effects.
According to Turkiyetoday report, Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler has issued a strong warning regarding Israel’s potential to escalate tensions with Turkey. Guler characterized Israel as an aggressive nation that could pose a direct threat to Turkey, hinting at the possibility of an attack. Furthermore, he cautioned that such a scenario could lead to broader global conflict, even suggesting that World War III could be triggered in the current volatile environment.
During a live appearance on TV100, a Turkish news channel, Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler stressed the importance of Turkey being prepared for all potential scenarios, highlighting the uncertainty and risks in the current geopolitical landscape.
When asked whether Israel could pose a direct threat to Turkey, Defense Minister Yasar Guler was quoted as saying by Turkiyetoday, “Our President is warning society because he sees this danger. Would Mr. President express such concerns if he didn’t see a potential threat from Israel?”
Defense Minister Yasar Guler also drew historical parallels, highlighting how past world wars were triggered by seemingly minor incidents, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of global conflict. He warned that while Turkey does not seek war, the country must remain vigilant and prepared for any unforeseen escalation. “Of course, we don’t want war, but we must always be ready,” Guler asserted.
‘We are responsible for the security of the Turkish Republic and the Turkish nation. We will use every possibility and evaluate every scenario,’ he was quoted as saying by Turkiyetoday.
Guler’s comments reflect growing concerns over Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza and Lebanon, which have significantly heightened tensions throughout the Middle East. Turkey’s Defense Minister, Yasar Guler, emphasized the country’s commitment to maintaining peace but also stressed that security forces are preparing comprehensive plans to address any potential threat.
