Israel Burns Down Turkish Palestinians’ Homes
Velid al Cezzar received a PhD after graduating from the Department of Chemistry at Middle Eastern Technical University in the early 1990’s. Later, he worked in Gaziantep for two years and applied for Turkish citizenship. Velid says he did this for his future plans and his love of Turkey, where he studied and worked for 8 years. Velid, who had to return before receiving a reply to his citizenship application, says: ‘perhaps my application has been accepted, I do not know. Turkey is my second country. I had the idea that if something bad happened, we could go back to Turkey. If my citizenship was accepted, my wish from Turkey is that they save us from this oppression.’
