Iran’s Asefi Stresses Security Cooperation With Turkey

Talking to reporters at his weekly press briefing, Asefi made the remark in response to a question posed on clashes between Turkey’s opposition to Kurds and Iranian border guards at the western border areas of Iran. "The said armed men, a number of whom have been killed, are affiliated with the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK)," he said. He brushed aside rumors on the possibility of attack by the air force of the Zionist regime on Bushehr power plant saying that the rumors are "propaganda" launched by the regime. "No country would dare to launch a military attack on Iran," he said. The spokesman laid emphasis on the continuation of Iran’s transparent and honest cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, saying "Tehran is committed to its undertakings as before."
