Indonesia, Turkey forge joint venture to make military drones


JAKARTA/ISTANBUL — Indonesia and Turkey have agreed to establish a joint venture between companies from both countries to develop unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for military use in the Southeast Asian nation.

The deal was signed by Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of Baykar Technology, and Norman Joesoef, CEO of Indonesian defense company Republikorp during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Indonesia for a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday.
