Indian travel industry engages with T rkiye s tourism highlights in Delhi Roadshow


The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) wrapped up the first leg of their six-city India Roadshow 2024 in New Delhi. The event, held at the Oberoi Hotel on January 30th, marked the beginning of the roadshow, with the presence of 30 key stakeholders from Türkiye, including tour operators, hoteliers, and MCs.

The participants were exposed to a presentation showcasing Türkiye’s landscapes, historical landmarks, and cities. The B2B sessions aimed at facilitating exchanges and partnerships between the leaders of the Indian travel industry and Türkiye’s suppliers. Notable Indian travel brands, including MakeMyTrip and EaseMyTrip, participated in the event, highlighting the industry’s interest in Türkiye as a destination. Dignitaries like Onur Gözet from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Türkiye’s Ambassador to India, H.E. Fırat Sunel, were present, emphasising the growing tourism relations between the two nations. 

Onur Gözet, Deputy Director General for Promotion, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, addressed the gathering, stating, “Our shared histories have woven a narrative that resonates through both Türkiye and India. The foundation laid with the commencement of the six-city roadshow signifies the beginning of a collaborative journey towards enduring partnerships and mutual growth between Türkiye and India.” 

Jyoti Mayal, President, TAAI, commented on the roadshow, saying, “Tourism stands as a dynamic force for connecting individuals from diverse cultures, fostering mutual understanding. We are delighted to collaborate with Turkiye for their mega six-city roadshow after the challenging phase of the COVID pandemic. The interactions today in Delhi marked a successful commencement of the roadshow, graced by the presence of senior government representatives from Turkiye, highlighting the effectiveness of such interactions in building relationships.” 

The Delhi roadshow saw the participation of over 200 tourism fraternity members from Türkiye and India, emphasising the synergy between the two countries. It served as a platform for showcasing Türkiye’s tourism offerings to the Indian travel trade community. The roadshow will continue with sessions in Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and the concluding event in Ahmedabad.
