Independent Kaya joins AKP

Announcer told those attending the party congress after PM Erdogan’s speech that Kaya would be joining AKP.

Kaya said that he believed in democracies, not those who follow an ideology, but those who govern wisely, came to power, noting that he was joining AKP for this reason.

With Kaya, now AKP has 368 parliamentarians out of 550.

Kaya had resigned from opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP).
