"I can designate any negotiator prefered by Turkey"
LEFKOSA (AA) – Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas said on Friday that he could designate any negotiator preferred by Turkey.
When he was recalled about the statement of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that he should review his advisers, Denktas said that he "understood that Erdogan was willing to change the negotiator and experts."
Denktas said, "we are talking this issue among ourselves. I have the right to designate the negotiator as the president. They can tell me the negotiator who can be preferred by Turkish government and I will designate him or her. And, we will see to which point he or she will take us."
"I would prefer him to talk this issue with me. It is not my habit to respond to prime ministers through press. I will certainly have the opportunity to meet with him. Advisers make advices to me and I have never complained about them so far. I really regarded strange his expressing his views through press instead of talking with me," Denktas added.
