Heavy Criticism by Denktas

Denktas said that a Yes vote was demanded from them for "The victory of Hellenism" and Turkey put on pressures on them for this purpose, Denktas said that Turkey which was ready to war over the Kardak islet, was preparing to desert Cyprus, for nothing.

"Cyprus is going out of our hands" he said, adding that "These statements made us very unhappy, They should not have done this to us. We are sovereign and will remain so, till the end."

"Cyprus is going out of our hands and if this means nothing to Turkey, let its Parliament tell us this, boldly. We want to hear it from all the political parties. We can in no way accept a party to tell us that we are not sovereign, just because it is in power."
