Health Ministry steps up measures against SARS
Asking his ministry’s provincial offices to train health personnel and transfer all information about SARS to all public and private health institutions, Akdag stressed that the public would be informed about symptoms of SARS and methods of protection from the disease.
According to the circular, an early warning system will be set up in all provinces, while an action plan will be prepared against a possible outbreak of SARS.
Special rooms will be organized in certain hospitals while an ambulance and a health team will be determined to transfer a suspected SARS case to these hospitals.
Trained health personnel will be employed at border gates to make medical checks of people coming from risky regions. Those Turkish citizens coming from risky regions will be asked to stay in their houses and avoid accepting visitors for 10 days and call Health Ministry offices in case they feel the symptoms of SARS.
Those doctors working at tourism facilities will also be informed about recent developments about SARS.
