Healing Lives Through WASH Activities after the Devastating Earthquakes in Türkiye
In February, Türkiye was struck by devastating earthquakes that shattered countless lives and ruined communities. As the dust settles, it became evident that the urgent needs of the affected population extended beyond physical rebuilding. Access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and basic hygiene supplies were among the critical requirements to restore a sense of normalcy for the survivors.
Approximately 2.4 million individuals found themselves displaced, living in temporary settlements without adequate water and sanitation services. The dire situation demanded immediate action, and UNICEF, recognizing the needs and working closely with the Government of Türkiye, stepped in to address the pressing needs of the affected communities.
