Gul to Ask Straw to Pressure Greeks

Gul is also planning to raise the issue of bylaws to remove economic sanctions imposed on the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Great Britain has said it will take some steps to remove the sanctions on the TRNC and may start direct flights to the island when it takes over the European Union (EU) Term Presidency from Luxembourg in June.

It is also expected that Straw will ask for an end to Turkish objections to the inclusion of the Greek Cypriot administration in the EU-NATO cooperation. It has been announced that the talks will also address bilateral policy, economic and cultural relations, Turkey-EU relations, cooperation on judicial and domestic affairs and the Middle East.

Turkey’s new Accession Partnership Document which is said to be "political not technical" will be published in November during the UK’s presidency.
