Gul: If Simitis Said ‘Enosis,’ This Proves We Are Right

In response to a reporter’s reference to Simitis’ alleged comment, "We have achieved enosis," Gul said: "If such things were said, then none of this would help peace. Besides, it would prove to the entire world just how right the Turkish side is and how the worries of the Turkish side are justified. But I do not think these things would have been said. If they were, then it would show that Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) President (Rauf) Denktas was right about the issue."
