Greek Film Days in Diyarbakir
These films are expected to encourage communication and prepare the ground for the exchange of views between Greece and Turkey. The films to be screened between September 26 and October 2 are: Picture by Nikos Papatakis (1986), Young Aphrodites by Nikos Koundros (1963), Crystal Nights by Tonia Marketi (1991), Eternity and A Day by Theodoros Angelopoulos (1998), From the Edge of the City by Constantinos Giannaris (1998), Stone Years by Pantelis Voulgaris (1985), Soil Painted in Red by Vassilis Georgiades (1965), The Tree We Hurt by Dimos Avdeliodis (1986) and Rebetiko.
Greek Ambassador Michael B.Christides was reported to visit the city between September 27-30 and hold some meetings with local authorities and representatives of the private institutions in order to acquire a better understanding of the regional developments. The ambassador will meet Governor Nusret Miroglu, Mayor Feridun Celik, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kutbettin Arzu, Chairman of KA-MER Nebahat Akkoc, Chairman of the Southeast Journalists’ Association Naci Sapan and Chairman of the Diyarbakir Bar Sezgin Tanrikulu.
