Greek Cypriots, EU Readying ‘Precautions’ Against Turkish Side

According to reports in the Greek press Maurer, on a visit to Greek Cyprus, discussed the precautions with officials. The media said the Greek Cypriots and the EU were in the final stages of putting the precautions against the Turkish Cypriots into practice.

While the Greek Cypriot administration is taking care to harmonize the precautions with EU principles, it is also trying to avoid leaving a door open for recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC).

Greek Cypriot spokesman Kipros Hrisostomidis had previously announced that some of the precautions did not have any applicability to Greek law as a result of research conducted by the Greek attorney general.
