Greek Cypriot public opinion divided over..

The 18 applications have divided Greek Cypriot public opinion into two. While Greek Cypriot officials are harshly criticising KKTC court applicants, stating that such applications mean to recognize KKTC internationally, there is not a consensus on banning applications to the KKTC court.

Turkish officials expect that this court will block about 3,000 applications from Greek Cypriots that demand compensation from Turkey in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

While the Greek Cypriot government is not in a hurry regarding the issue, many political groups urge the government to ban the applications and even punish the applicants.
