Greek Attitude Concerns U.N.
U.N. sources have commented that the Cypriot Greek administration may possibly campaign behind the scenes against the referendum.
An article by Lucas G. Charalambous in a weekly Cypriot-Greek newspaper, The Liberal Sunday Mail, claims that Greek administration leader Tassos Papadopoulos has moved towards an active political collaboration with religious figures in order to sabotage the Annan plan behind the scenes.
U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan’s Special Envoy to Cyprus Alvaro de Soto will hold a briefing at the U.N. Security Council about the latest developments in the Cyprus peace talks. After the agenda is decided upon, the meeting will be held behind closed doors.
