Germany asks for quarantee from Turkey for Kaplan

BERLIN (AA) – German Interior Minister Otto Schily said today that he asked his Turkish counterpart Abdulkadir Aksu a quarantee not to hear of banned organization Islamic Society and Tribes Unit’s leader Metin Kaplan by torturing.

Schily stated that he would meet with Aksu on the issue of deportation of Kaplan and on torture against him.

He stressed that deportation of Kaplan was an obligation and if Germany wouldn’t give back Kaplan, it would mean weakness of their country.
