Georgia’s stability important for Turkey

Aydin attended a ceremony held for Turkey’s foodstuff aid to this country on Tuesday and said that Turkey considered Georgia a friendly country.

Stating that Georgia recorded great progresses in a very short time, he said that Turkey had economic problems in past. He added that Turkey’s political situation reached rapidly world democracy standard.

Aydin noted that aid which was extended by Turkish government to Georgian people was a symbol of friendship and stated that economic and political stability of the region was also of great importance for Turkey’s stability.

Georgian Finance and Revenue Minister Zurab Noghaideli who also attended the ceremony said that they were pleased with aid extended to Georgia. Noghaideli stated that Georgia went through a difficult period in its economy and noted that they attached great importance especially to meeting food need of their army troops.

Sources said that Turkey’s first part of aid including 90 trucks carrying 1.500 tons of foodstuff reached Tbilisi and stated that aid would be distributed to army troops and other state institutions.

Aydin also visited Turkish-Georgian Businessmen’s Association.

State Minister Aydin listened to problems of Turkish businessmen in Georgia and said that they had a very big potential in the region.
