ANKARA
Besiktas announced Thursday that Gedson Fernandes has joined the Istanbul club.
The Portuguese midfielder signed a 4-year deal with the Black Eagles with an option for an additional year, according to a statement on the team’s website.
“I feel so good. I’ve been wanting to come here for a long time and I’m finally here,” Fernandes said. “I want to enjoy every moment here. I’m here to help my team and make our fans happy.”
The 23-year-old added that he will wear number 83.
Fernandes played for clubs including Tottenham and Galatasaray. He joined Besiktas from Benfica after his loan ended with Türkiye’s Caykur Rizespor.
